ABOUT
Amalgamate Dance Company (ADC) exists to raise awareness around significant topics and events that affect human development through authentic storytelling. ADC uses “dance for a purpose” to educate, entertain, transform, and inspire our audiences.
ADC is recognized for our signature initiative, The Charity Project. We fully produce events that serve client based needs by raising awareness and funds for Charitable causes through our tailored choreography, documentaries, & knowledgeable speakers on behalf of the organization. We help people “experience” the cause.
All Annual ADC produced events directly financially support a charitable or educational cause, donating a portion of our proceeds to their organization. Currently, ADC produces our Fall and Spring NYC Season Shows, a Bi-Annual Amalgamate Artist Series, a growing Guest Artist Showcase, and two NYC Workshops. We offer weekly company classes to the public, company apprenticeships, and tailored internships.
Since the company’s conception in November of 2005, as founding Artistic Director, Alana Marie Urda’s contemporary choreography has ignited audiences across the country with incredible stories, raw emotion, unique aesthetics, and fearless partnering. ADC Co-founder collaborations are riveting creations, regarded as two distinct voices coming together to push the boundaries of expression and the physical body.
As our name indicates, we seek to amalgamate, or merge, dance with specific client-based needs and produce groundbreaking projects around the globe. ADC is known for collaborative outreach efforts, tailoring choreography for charities, churches, and community centers. The company’s Arts-in-Education Youth Programs use dance to creatively teach students to engage in critical thinking and collaborative learning. ADC is available for performances, choreography commissions, workshops, charity projects, and more.
ADC was formed to create more opportunities for dance artists and provide an outlet for authentic expression while serving the community. We are committed to influencing and reaching millions of lives through the art of dance.
Alana Marie Urda and Aubrey A. Strickland are Co-founders of Amalgamate Dance Company established November 2005.
