Gallim Master Class with Caroline Fermin:
This class combines technique and repertory. Class begins with a warm up of direct body explorations using improvisation and exercises that emphasize floor work, the articulation of the torso to the plumb line, and use of gravity and momentum. After improvisation, the class moves across the floor with exercises that focus on use of space, risk taking, recovering, balancing, and playing with momentum. The class closes with a final combination that moves in and out of the floor and covers the entire space of the studio. By the end of class, students will have learned to find softness in the floor, to take physical chances, and to further develop their own expressiveness.
